KBC Community Bright Ideas

1. The competition is open to anyone living in a county with a KBCI Hub or the surrounding area.

2. Entrants can only submit one Bright Idea.

3. Closing date for entries is 5pm on Friday June 30th 2017 (the “Application Closing Date”).

4. Applications submitted will be judged by provincial judging panels in KBCI Hubs.

5. Entrants must be aged 18 years or older. Only one entry per person is permitted.

6. In order to enter the competition, the Community Bright Ideas application form must be completed in full and received by KBCI by the Application Closing Date.

7. Entrants may be asked at any stage to submit further, more detailed information in relation to their entry, in a form and substance satisfactory to KBCI, to assist the judging process. Failure to supply this information may result in the application not being considered further.

8. Applications will be short-listed into a list of regional finalists and will be invited to an awards event.

9. The winners will then be categorized and prize funds distributed accordingly at the absolute discretion of the KBCI judging panel. No canvassing in any situation will be permitted.

10. The regional winners will be shortlisted by the judging panel and two from each of the seven regions will be entered in to the National Brightest Idea competition.

11. One national winner will be selected from the shortlisted regional winners and awarded the KBC Green Idea Prize. The winner will receive an additional prize fund of €2,500 to support eco-friendly community projects. The winner will be selected by a judging panel made up of regional judges.

12. The National Brightest Idea competition will run from 17th August 2017 to 29th September 2017.

13. National finalists can be voted for through Twitter or Facebook via www.kbcbrightideas.com.

14. Votes will be counted once on both Facebook and Twitter.

15. Funds must be used within 12 months of receipt and winners must provide KBCI with written confirmation of how funds have been used.

16. KBCI and its representatives are not responsible for the manner in which funds are used or applied.

17. KBCI is not responsible for any materials submitted as part of the entry process. If copyrighted materials and/or images from a third party are used in submissions or presentations, entrants must obtain permission and authorisation from their owners in advance of their use.

18. Any person entering this competition will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.

19. The decision of KBCI will be final and binding on all entrants. KBCI will not enter into any correspondence in this regard.

20. Any entry not in strict accordance with these terms and conditions will be deemed to be invalid.

21. This competition is not open to directors, management, employees or appointed intermediaries of KBCI and their agents or to any other person connected with KBCI.

22. KBCI reserves the right to amend, modify, cancel, withdraw or change the terms of the competition and or the prizes at any time, for any reason, without notice.

23. KBCI reserves the right to verify the identity of entrants, and to disqualify any entrant who does not act in accordance with the terms and conditions of this competition.

24. KBCI will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury which might occur to the prize winner and any other individual arising from his or her entry in the competition and/or acceptance of the prize.

25. KBCI accept no legal responsibility for any loss of profit, business, contracts or revenues incurred by any entrant as a result of entering the competition.

26. The winning entrants grant KBCI permission to publish his/her/their name for advertising and promotional purposes without additional notification or consent being required. Competitors may be required to participate in a photo, video and/or film session, and hereby acknowledge that KBCI have the rights to use such publicity photos, videos and/or films in any medium and in any way it sees fit.

KBC Business Bright Ideas

1. The competition is open to for-profit Irish businesses (Limited Companies, Sole traders and Partnerships) or individuals with ideas for businesses primarily operating in Republic of Ireland.

2. The KBCI Business Bright Ideas competition will run from 31st March 2017 to 29th September 2017.

3. 1 entry per Business is permitted.

4. Entrants must be over 18 years old (at the date of application).

5. Entry’s submitted by employees must have written permission from the business owner that they are authorised to enter the KBCI Bright Business competition.

6. Closing date for entries is 5pm on Friday 30th June 2017 (the “Application Closing Date”).

7. In order to enter the competition, the application form must be completed in full and received by KBCI  by the Application Closing Date.

8. Entrants may be asked at any stage to submit further, more detailed information in relation to their entry, in a form and substance satisfactory to KBCI, to assist the judging process. This may include proof of financial viability of the idea/business where applicable. Failure to supply this information may result in the application not being considered further.

9. Applications submitted will be judged by KBCI judging panel.

10. Applications will be short-listed into a list of finalists who will be invited to pitch to the judging panel.

11. The total Prize pool is €100,000 with a first prize of up to €50,000 with smaller amounts distributed to other finalists.

12. The winners will be chosen by the judging panel with prize funds distributed accordingly at the absolute discretion of the judging panel. No canvassing in any situation will be permitted.

13. The competition winners must invest any funds received in the pursuit of developing the idea or to support the business’ contribution to society. The competition winners must provide KBCI with written confirmation of how this will be achieved. Funds awarded are not transferable to another person or entity.
