This is Sean Tracey’s bright idea for Greater Leinster.

To purchase a variety of instruments to make available for use by branch members.

We wish to develop the branch as a community amenity by offering our members the opportunity to try out musical instruments before they commit to purchase.

Many instruments are expensive and this initiative would allow members to follow their dream to play an instrument, while they save in KBC to be in a position to purchase their own.

Since its formation in 2012, Craobh Mhaigh Nuad CCE has been involved in many aspects of community life, providing traditional arts in the form of music, song and dance at various functions to much acclaim.

Indeed, we hosted the Leinster Fleadh in 2015 which was a hugely successful event, bringing thousands of visitors to Maynooth and showcasing the town all it has to offer. The availability of a wider range of instruments would greatly enhance our ability to produce even better performances and give the community a traditional cultural group of which they could be extremely proud.

Using your logo and colours (if agreeable to you) we are prepared to call this initiative the Craobh Mhaigh Nuad KBC “instrument” bank. We would place stickers on instruments and instrument cases, approximately 300 units.

These instruments and cases accompany our members to a wide range of venues. As already stated we participate in community events which are arranged by the Community Council, The Scouts, The Tidy Towns, Maynooth Festivals Committee, G.A.A., Maynooth University etc. We also attend County, Provincial and National Fleadhanna, offering exposure to many thousands of people.
